As I submit this feature request, this input [expects a file containing only the Python version](https://github.com/actions/setup-python/blob/5ccb29d8773c3f3f653e1705f474dfaa8a06a912/src/setup-python.ts#L39-L48), as used by [pyenv](https://github.com/pyenv/pyenv). I propose that the feature be extended to support the [TOML key](https://toml.io/en/v1.0.0#keys) `requires.python_version` in [Pipenv](https://pipenv.pypa.io/en/latest/)'s `Pipfile`.\r\n\r\n#542 has been submitted as a similar request for `pyproject.toml`, another file in [TOML format](https://toml.io/).\r\n\r\n**Justification:**\r\nDependencies of Python apps not meant to be distributed are often managed with [Pipenv](https://pipenv.pypa.io/en/latest/), which is [developed and maintained by the Python Packaging Authority](https://packaging.python.org/en/latest/key_projects/#pipenv) (PyPA) and their [documented tool](https://packaging.python.org/en/latest/tutorials/managing-dependencies/). Pipenv allows to [specify the oldest Python version the app requires in the `Pipfile`](https://pipenv.pypa.io/en/latest/basics/#specifying-versions-of-python).\r\n\r\nThe [action `setup-node`](https://github.com/marketplace/actions/setup-node-js-environment), too, can [load the Node.js version to set up from a variety of files](https://github.com/actions/setup-node/blob/main/docs/advanced-usage.md#node-version-file). It, however, supports not just files containing only the Node.js version, like `.nvmrc` and `.node_version`, but also the structured format of `package.json`.\r\n\r\n**Are you willing to submit a PR?**\r\nYes, I am.
