Create an initialization code file with the following content and \r\nname it `myinit.m`:\r\n```\r\nReportFunction[x_]:=Module[\r\n     {nbobj, res},\r\n     Print[\"myinit.m | ReportFunction | function started\"];\r\n     Print[\"x: \"Head[x], \"  x: \", InputForm[x]];\r\n     UsingFrontEnd[\r\n         Print[\"myinit.m | ReportFunction | after UsingFrontEnd\", x];\r\n         nbobj = GenerateDocument[\"ExampleData/BasicTemplate.nb\", x];\r\n         Print[\"myinit.m | ReportFunction | nbobj created: \", nbobj];\r\n         res = ExportString[nbobj, \"HTML\"];\r\n         Print[\"myinit.m | ReportFunction | res created: \", \r\nStringLength[res]];\r\n         NotebookClose[nbobj];\r\n         Print[\"myinit.m | ReportFunction | nbobj closed.\"];\r\n         Return[res]\r\n     ]\r\n]\r\n```\r\n\r\n2. Change the content of `testapp/form/index.wl` to:\r\n```\r\nFormFunction[\"author\" -\u003e \"String\", ReportFunction]\r\n```\r\n\r\n3. Now launch the WEPy like this:\r\n```\r\npy -3.11 -m wolframwebengine testapp --initfile myinit.m\r\n```\r\n\r\n4. Finally call that page in a browser `http://localhost:18000/form`\r\n\r\nNow you can put any string into that form and [ubmit\r\nThat page will run forever and the log file of WEPy says:\r\n```\r\nKernel writes commands to socket: \u003cSocket: uri=tcp://127.0.0.1:50973\u003e\r\nKernel receives evaluated expressions from socket: \u003cSocket: \r\nuri=tcp://127.0.0.1:50974\u003e\r\nInitializing Kernel logger on socket tcp://127.0.0.1:50977\r\nKernel process started with PID: 8\r\nConnected to logging socket: tcp://127.0.0.1:50977\r\nKernel 8 is ready. Startup took 4.61 seconds.\r\nGET /form done in 0.8590s: 200\r\n192.168.98.200 - Administrator [26/Mar/2024:10:38:04 +0100] \"myinit.m | \r\nReportFunction | function started\" 1 8\r\n\"x: \"*Association   x:  InputForm[\u003c|\"author\" -\u003e \"Otto Meier\"|\u003e]\r\n192.168.98.200 - Administrator [26/Mar/2024:10:38:06 +0100] \"myinit.m | \r\nReportFunction | after UsingFrontEnd \u003c|author -\u003e Otto Meier|\u003e\" 1 8\r\n```\r\n\r\nSo the evaluation stops after the `Mathematica.exe` has successfully \r\nlaunched.\r\nThe  `GenerateDocument` command never evaluates...\r\n`WolframKernel.exe` and `Mathematica.exe` stay in the list of processes\r\nbut will not get stopped when stopping the WEPy script.","author":{"url":"https://github.com/s4m13337","@type":"Person","name":"s4m13337"},"datePublished":"2024-12-10T08:07:08.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":0},"url":"https://github.com/13/WolframWebEngineForPython/issues/13"}
