I saw that dmesg contained some errors coming out of the `ucsi_acpi` part of the kernel:\n\n```\n[  124.935295] ucsi_acpi USBC000:00: unknown error 0\n[  124.935306] ucsi_acpi USBC000:00: GET_CABLE_PROPERTY failed (-5)\n\n```\n\nI patched the `ucsi` kernel module to see whats going on. There i saw that the EC sets the CCI_Error Bit:\n\n```\n[  126.487451] UCSI DBG: command:=0x40011 opcode:=0x0011 connector:=0x0004\n[  126.505393] UCSI DBG: cmd=0x40011 opcode=0x11 connector=0x4 has returned a CCI Error (0x40000000), CCI: 0xc0000000, (1073741824)!\n[  126.567404] ucsi_acpi USBC000:00: unknown error 256\n[  126.567414] UCSI DBG: ret=0xfffffffb\n[  126.567416] ucsi_acpi USBC000:00: GET_CABLE_PROPERTY failed (-5)\n```\n\nI am on the newest firmware (03.06), but what is interesting is that the PD Controller versions are reported as 0.0, but i dont know if that was ever correct.\n\nUnfourtunately, i dont have a way to directly attach to the SWD/UART interface of the EC right now, so im a bit hesitant to do some firmware hacking myself.\n\nAny help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!","author":{"url":"https://github.com/mowoe","@type":"Person","name":"mowoe"},"datePublished":"2025-09-08T16:37:04.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":0},"url":"https://github.com/72/EmbeddedController/issues/72"}
