My XML file looked like this:\n\n``` xml\n\u003citems\u003e\n    \u003citem\u003e\n        \u003cITEMNUMBER\u003e30401020\u003c/ITEMNUMBER\u003e\n        \u003cfield\u003e\n            \u003cfieldname\u003eITEMNAME\u003c/fieldname\u003e\n            \u003cvalue\u003eMountain Bike\u003c/value\u003e\n        \u003c/field\u003e\n    \u003c/item\u003e\n    ...\n\u003c/items\u003e\n```\n\nAnd I had set the **XPath** to `/items/item[field/fieldName = 'ITEMNAME']`, the **Text column** to `field/value` and the **Value column** to `ITEMNUMBER`.\n\nUpon closer reading I did at least grasp that the columns are referred to as \"fields\" and in my testing it seems like they can only select attributes on the selected node...\n\nI see this as somewhat restrictive, because it means I'll have to pre-process the XML to move data into attributes.\n\nSo I guess my suggestion is to allow the Text and Value columns to use an XPath selector?\n","author":{"url":"https://github.com/greystate","@type":"Person","name":"greystate"},"datePublished":"2014-01-27T08:55:39.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":6},"url":"https://github.com/5/uComponents/issues/5"}
