The way that I am familiar with is to use the `USING` keyword but that seems to be scoped to the `WHERE` clause only. When I try returning the columns from the `USING` table, `sqlc generate` complains that it cant find the column in the `RETURNING` block.\r\n\r\nI have an example with CI testing/output [here](https://github.com/buildbreaker/HelloWorld/pull/6). \r\n[Add sqlc DELETE/USING issue demonstration](https://github.com/buildbreaker/HelloWorld/pull/6/commits/6874f0400325e9bdafb335d2c4a7236edf04c0d8) contains the commit for the \"working path\". \r\n[failure case](https://github.com/buildbreaker/HelloWorld/pull/6/commits/709d00786818f4bb078f919f8e515810fe732cb9) introduces the problematic query. The CI error can be found [here](https://github.com/buildbreaker/HelloWorld/runs/7101547962?check_suite_focus=true).\r\n\r\nI can get around this specific issue by using CTEs but it'd be nice to get this way working also!\r\n\r\n### Relevant log output\r\n\r\n```shell\r\nError message from the \"Failing query\" in the SQL queries section:\r\n\r\n # package demo\r\n query.sql:26:15: column \"b_id\" does not exist\r\n```\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n### Database schema\r\n\r\n```sql\r\nCREATE TABLE a\r\n(\r\n a_id TEXT,\r\n b_id_fk TEXT\r\n);\r\nCREATE TABLE b\r\n(\r\n b_id TEXT\r\n);\r\n```\r\n\r\n\r\n### SQL queries\r\nQuery that works:\r\n```sql\r\n-- name: GetSomeDeletedOk :many\r\nDELETE FROM a\r\n USING b\r\nWHERE a.b_id_fk = b.b_id\r\n RETURNING *; -- note no columns from b in model\r\n```\r\n\r\nFailing query:\r\n```sql\r\n-- name: GetSomeDeletedNotOk :many\r\nDELETE FROM a\r\nUSING b\r\nWHERE a.b_id_fk = b.b_id\r\nRETURNING b.b_id; -- column \"b_id\" does not exist\r\n```\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n### Configuration\r\n\r\n```yaml\r\nversion: 1\r\npackages:\r\n - path: \"demo\"\r\n name: \"demo\"\r\n engine: \"postgresql\"\r\n schema: \"schema.sql\"\r\n queries: \"query.sql\"\r\n```\r\n\r\n\r\n### Playground URL\r\n\r\nhttps://play.sqlc.dev/p/1ca4c468637ee1d35988be307ea517680fce1fb63af2b816a5a9af4361bf4f68\r\n\r\n### What operating system are you using?\r\n\r\nmacOS\r\n\r\n### What database engines are you using?\r\n\r\nPostgreSQL\r\n\r\n### What type of code are you generating?\r\n\r\nGo","author":{"url":"https://github.com/buildbreaker","@type":"Person","name":"buildbreaker"},"datePublished":"2022-06-28T21:35:12.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":2},"url":"https://github.com/1714/sqlc/issues/1714"}
