Why is that the expected behavior?\n\nAccording to [the docs](https://nodejs.org/api/test.html#event-testenqueue), the `test:enqueue` event should have a field `file` that contains the test filename. `undefined` is permitted only if \"test was run through the REPL\", which it was not.\n\n### What do you see instead?\n\n`test:enqueue` event has no `file` field\n\n### Additional information\n\nFound this when the downstream [node-test-reporter](https://github.com/integreat-io/node-test-reporter/blob/main/lib/index.js#L66) library failed to produce useful error output for a syntax error in a test file.","author":{"url":"https://github.com/hamptonsmith","@type":"Person","name":"hamptonsmith"},"datePublished":"2026-01-28T16:05:24.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":0},"url":"https://github.com/61565/node/issues/61565"}
