Is there a required condition?\n\nEvery time.\nTested on Windows Node v24.12.0.\nNode v22.10.0 does not appear to have this issue.\n\n### What is the expected behavior? Why is that the expected behavior?\n\nThe file should be deleted.\n\n### What do you see instead?\n\nThe file remains on disk.\n\n### Additional information\n\nThis seems related to non-Ascii path handling on Windows.\n\nPossibly the same underlying issue as #58759 and , but with a different failure mode (silent no-op instead of crash).\n\n- When the filename itself contains Chinese characters, `rmSync` crash without throw.\n- When an absolute path contains Chinese characters, `rmSync`  also crash without throw.\n- When the file is located inside a Chinese-named directory (but the filename is ASCII-only), `rmSync` is a no-op but does not throw(no deletion).\n\nRelated issues:\n#58759\n#56049","author":{"url":"https://github.com/Yuchen-Dai","@type":"Person","name":"Yuchen-Dai"},"datePublished":"2025-12-15T04:20:17.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":3},"url":"https://github.com/61067/node/issues/61067"}
