{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"DiscussionForumPosting","headline":"Build: No module named 'distutils.spawn'","articleBody":"* **Version**: master\r\n* **Platform**: WSL Ubuntu\r\n* **Subsystem**:\r\n\r\nI know Node.js doesn't officially support Windows Subsystem for Linux, but I've been quite happily using this to develop on Windows for a while now.\r\n\r\nSome recent change in the last week or two on master seems to be causing a build issue though as I now get the following output when running `./configure` -\r\n\r\n```\r\nTraceback (most recent call last):\r\n  File \"./configure\", line 20, in \u003cmodule>\r\n    from distutils.spawn import find_executable\r\nModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'distutils.spawn'\r\n```\r\n\r\nI have tried running `git clean -fdx`.\r\n\r\nAny suggestions as to how to fix this would be a huge help to get going again here.","author":{"url":"https://github.com/guybedford","@type":"Person","name":"guybedford"},"datePublished":"2019-10-31T05:30:18Z","url":"https://github.com/nodejs/node/issues/30189"}
