This happens both in the python command line and the jupyter qt console.\r\n\r\nHowever, if I do the same but with \r\n```python\r\nimport matplotlib\r\nmatplotlib.use('TkAgg')\r\nimport matplotlib.pyplot as plt\r\nplt.ioff()\r\nplt.plot(range(10))\r\nplt.show()\r\n```\r\nthen both buttons work.
