If you attempt to adjust the plot by clicking on, e.g., the \"scale\" button below the plot and right-clicking and dragging the cursor on the plot to scale it, then nothing happens until you type some keys in the terminal, at which point it'll update, but then the terminal and the plot will become unresponsive until you execute Ctrl-C. \r\n\r\n**Code for reproduction**\r\n\r\n```python\r\nimport matplotlib.pyplot as plt\r\nplt.ion()\r\nplt.figure()\r\nplt.plot([1], 'ko') # plot a point\r\n```\r\n\r\n**Actual outcome**\r\n\r\nAfter executing that code and try to adjust the figure by scaling or zooming in, nothing will happen. If you start typing, then the figure will update, but then the terminal and figure become unresponsive until you press Ctrl-C. \r\n\r\n**Expected outcome**\r\n\r\nAttempts to adjust the plot should have an instantaneous response with no unresponsiveness afterwards. \r\n\r\n**Matplotlib version**\r\n\r\nmatplotlib 2.0.0\r\n\r\npython info:\r\nPython 3.5.2 |Anaconda custom (x86_64)| (default, Jul 2 2016, 17:52:12) \r\n[GCC 4.2.1 Compatible Apple LLVM 4.2 (clang-425.0.28)] on darwin\r\n\r\nplatform: \r\nMac OS X 10.11.6\r\n\r\nI installed everything using anaconda. \r\n","author":{"url":"https://github.com/js54434","@type":"Person","name":"js54434"},"datePublished":"2017-03-29T19:33:19.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":9},"url":"https://github.com/8400/matplotlib/issues/8400"}
