It looks like the figures are scaled to compensate for my device's DPI scaling (natively 1.5x). This hadn't been the case up until recently. Disabling DPI awareness from Windows doesn't help. Using Anaconda 4.2\r\n\r\n**Code for reproduction**\r\n\r\n```python\r\nimport matplotlib\r\nmatplotlib.use('Qt5Agg')\r\n\r\nimport matplotlib.pyplot as plt\r\nfrom numpy import linspace, sin\r\n\r\nx = linspace(0, 10, 1000)\r\nplt.plot(x, sin(x))\r\nplt.show()\r\n#\r\n```\r\n\r\n**Actual outcome**\r\n\u003cimg width=\"481\" alt=\"capture\" src=\"https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/1946616/21911700/ccbc3d50-d986-11e6-81be-c306a15e749c.PNG\"\u003e\r\n\r\n**Expected outcome**\r\n\r\nUntil recently I would just get small (no attempt to compensate for HiDPI) figures without any blur, I'm not sure what has triggered the change.\r\n\r\n**Matplotlib version**\r\nMatplotlib 1.5.3\r\nPython 3.5.2\r\nAnaconda 4.2.0\r\non Windows 10\r\n","author":{"url":"https://github.com/rgbrown","@type":"Person","name":"rgbrown"},"datePublished":"2017-01-12T22:58:57.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":2},"url":"https://github.com/7813/matplotlib/issues/7813"}
