It is breaking my [tool](https://github.com/raamana/visualqc/blob/36826e33526186f7722f24f1baf6c1d880ca3dbe/visualqc/diffusion.py#L528) and I don't even understand the rationale for such backward incompatible change.\r\n\r\nregardless, I need a workaround that would continue to work with future versions of matplotlib.
