On these documentation pages, there is no hint, *which version* of matplotlib you are looking at. Even the URL of the documentation doesn't give a clue! If you try some code (*official samples* from the *official documentation*!), you may wonder why it is not working in your installation of matplotlib. \r\n\r\n### Why this matters\r\n\r\nEspecially for beginners, this is very frustrating!
