Clone https://github.com/python/cpython\r\n2. `git check-ignore -v Python` \u0026ndash; The file isn't ignored\r\n3. Using Pygit2:\r\n```python\r\n\u003e\u003e\u003e import pygit2\r\n\u003e\u003e\u003e a = pygit2.Repository('.')\r\n\u003e\u003e\u003e a.path_is_ignored('Python')\r\nTrue\r\n```\r\n\r\n### Expected behavior\r\nThe Python directory should not be ignored like in standard Git.\r\n\r\n### Actual behavior\r\nThe Python directory is ignored by libgit2.\r\n\r\n### Version of libgit2 (release number or SHA1)\r\n`pygit2.LIBGIT2_VERSION` \u0026ndash; v0.26.0\r\nAtom git-utils v5.0.0 uses libgit2 v0.24.3\r\n\r\n### Operating system(s) tested\r\nWindows 10.0.15063 x64","author":{"url":"https://github.com/segevfiner","@type":"Person","name":"segevfiner"},"datePublished":"2017-07-07T09:20:56.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":1},"url":"https://github.com/4295/libgit2/issues/4295"}
