{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"DiscussionForumPosting","headline":"[Request] Writing Java applications with Eclipse","articleBody":"Since it seems that we already have an article about using Java in VSC and at an article about IntelliJ is in the process of being added in #62, I think another article should be added for the Eclipse IDE.\r\n\r\nThere are many people using it so it would be weird to leave it out.\r\n\r\n### Website section\r\nLearn \u003e Tutorials \u003e Your First Java App\r\n\r\n### Details\r\nI could imagine the following sections:\r\n- Introduction/installation\r\n- creating Java projects\r\n  - possibly including build tools (I am not talking about an introduction to build tools, just about creating Maven/Gradle projects in Eclipse)\r\n- Debugging functionality (Debug perspective, associated buttons, etc)\r\n- Content assist\r\n  - I don't think it's necessary to talk about setting auto activation keys but this is a possibility as well.\r\n- Differentiation between workspaces and projects\r\n- possibly Ctrl+1 (quick fix), Ctrl+3 (quick access)\r\n- Refactoring/Generation/Autoformatting\r\n  - only a quick overview showing the options being there\r\n  - not including any configuration of autoformatting etc\r\n\r\n### Author references\r\nI would be interested in writing this but I am also open to other people writing it.","author":{"url":"https://github.com/danthe1st","@type":"Person","name":"danthe1st"},"datePublished":"2024-02-16T14:35:40.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":8},"url":"https://github.com/68/devjava-content/issues/68"}
