{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"DiscussionForumPosting","headline":"SchemaUsageReport is not visiting applied directives","articleBody":"**Describe the bug**\r\nSchemaUsageReport is not visiting GraphQLAppliedDirectives, this can sometimes result in SchemaUsage giving incorrect information about whether a directive is being referenced.\r\n\r\n**To Reproduce**\r\n- create a schema that contains a directive definition and a field that uses that directive\r\n- manipulate the schema, clearing the list of directives from the field, and adding the applied directive back to it.\r\nFor example:\r\n```\r\nList\u003cGraphQLAppliedDirectives\u003e directives = fieldDef.getAppliedDirectives();\r\nfieldDef.transform(f -\u003e f.clearDirectives().replaceAppliedDirectives(directives))\r\n```\r\n- at this point the field should have an empty list of GraphQLDirective, and a list of GraphQLAppliedDirective containing 1 item\r\n- run the schema through SchemaUsage and check if the directive is being referenced:\r\n```\r\nschemaUsage.isStronglyReferenced(schema, \"directiveName\")\r\n```\r\n\r\n\r\nexpected behaviour: `isStronglyReferenced` should return `true`, since the directive is applied to the field\r\nactual behaviour: `isStronglyReferenced` returns `false`","author":{"url":"https://github.com/felipe-gdr","@type":"Person","name":"felipe-gdr"},"datePublished":"2023-07-11T07:33:29.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":4},"url":"https://github.com/3267/graphql-java/issues/3267"}
