This library and function is currently being used in the various `__init__.py` files in this project.\r\n\r\n#### Environment details\r\n\r\n  - OS type and version: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS\r\n  - Python version: 3.10.12\r\n  - pip version: 23.3\r\n  - `google-cloud-core` version: 2.3.3\r\n\r\n#### Steps to reproduce\r\n\r\n  1.
