When I click “Resolve conflicts”, the page tries to load the editor but immediately redirects back to the previous page without opening anything.\n\nThis issue started about three days ago, after I enabled some branch protection rulesets. Before that, everything worked normally.\n\n**Steps to reproduce:**\n\nGo to a pull request with merge conflicts\n\nClick `Resolve conflicts`\n\nPage flashes the editor for a moment\n\nRedirects back to the PR page with no editor and no error message\n\n**Expected behavior:**\nThe merge conflict editor should open normally so I can resolve conflicts directly in the browser.\n\nActual behavior:\nThe editor never loads. It redirects back instantly with no error message.\n\n**Additional notes:**\n– Issue persists across browsers\n– Started happening only after enabling branch protection rulesets\n– No changes were made to repository permissions\n\nPlease advise if branch protection rules are blocking the web editor or if this is a bug.","author":{"url":"https://github.com/0xJonaseb11","@type":"Person","name":"0xJonaseb11"},"datePublished":"2025-11-28T07:31:51.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":0},"url":"https://github.com/764/github/issues/764"}
