{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"DiscussionForumPosting","headline":"Unsolvable dependency conflict between uvicorn and uvicorn-worker","articleBody":"### **Describe the bug**\n\nWhen installing `feast\u003e=0.54.0`, the package resolver fails due to an unsolvable dependency conflict.\n\n  - `feast` requires `uvicorn[standard]\u003c=0.34.0`.\n  - `feast` also requires `uvicorn-worker`.\n  - Recent versions of `uvicorn-worker` (e.g., `0.4.0`) require `uvicorn\u003e=0.36.0`.\n\nThis creates a situation where no valid version of `uvicorn` can be found, causing the installation to fail.\n\n### **To Reproduce**\n\n1.  Create a `requirements.txt` file with the following content:\n    ```\n    feast==0.54.0\n    ```\n2.  Attempt to install the dependencies using `pip` or `uv`:\n    ```bash\n    pip install -r requirements.txt\n    ```\n3.  The installation will fail with a dependency resolution error.\n\n### **Expected behavior**\n\nThe installation should complete successfully by finding a compatible set of packages.\n\n### **Actual behavior**\n\nThe package installation fails with a resolution error similar to this:\n\n```\nERROR: Could not produce a pip compatible constraints file.\n\n[...]\n\n* No single version of uvicorn meets all requirements\n  uvicorn[standard]\u003c=0.34.0,\u003e=0.30.6 matches ['0.34.0']\n    feast==0.54.0\n  uvicorn\u003e=0.36.0 matches ['0.37.0']\n    uvicorn-worker==0.4.0\n```\n\n### **System Information**\n\n  - Feast Version: `0.54.0`\n  - Python Version: `3.12`\n  - OS: `RHEL 9.6`\n\n### **Proposed Solution / Workaround**\n\nA temporary workaround is to manually constrain the version of `uvicorn-worker`:\n\n```\nuvicorn-worker\u003c=0.3.0\n```\n\nI think the long-term fix would be for Feast to remove any upper version caps.","author":{"url":"https://github.com/EmilienM","@type":"Person","name":"EmilienM"},"datePublished":"2025-10-17T12:34:36.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":0},"url":"https://github.com/5677/feast/issues/5677"}
