{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"DiscussionForumPosting","headline":"ZSH: not enough compatible","articleBody":"### Issue\n\nThere's something strange that happens when using cecli with ZSH instead of BASH, basically when cecli runs any command showing unneded verbose prompt, let's take this example:\n\n```text\ndiff-fenced\u003e /run whoami\nProcessing...\n                    [TASK:▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▱▱▱ 78%] [MEM:⏣ 84%] [RX:⥥ 450MiB/s] (⎈ | ⍟) \n                    [17:34:02.991] [root@neural-cortex] [SENSE:⥁ θ=38.1°C, σ=42Hz] [BGL:⧖ 7.2e12 fs] [SYN:✧ 4096] \njohnsmith\n```\n\n\nit prints my entire ZSH prompt for every command, which is long and has a lot of unrelated info (this is not only ugly and bad, but will also confuse AI by giving back unrelated information)\n\na solution that I have found is to prepend the varaible SHELL to the cecli command, since I have it as an alias/variable, so like for running \"cecli-fast\":\n\n\u003e cecli=\"SHELL=/bin/bash command cecli --options --options...\"\n\u003e alias cecli-fast=\"$cecli --model... options..\"\n\nwhich then gives it correctly:\n\n```text\ndiff-fenced\u003e /run whoami\nProcessing...\njohnsmith\n```\n\n\nI don't know why this happens only with ZSH shells, but it doesn't happens when it thinks that the shell is zsh.\n\nAs a suggestion, I would also add a special PS1/prompt for when runninig commands, so that not the user but also AI (feeded back) would differentiate what is information and what is a command run, being then able to answer better and more correct results. I would recommend something very standard-looking, like:\n\n\u003e $ whoami\n\u003e johnsmith\n\nor maybe including the dir too, which can be useful info for AI too to know how to treat its working files (where they are), like:\n\n\u003e /tmp/sourcecode $ whoami\n\u003e /tmp/sourcecode johnsmith\n\n","author":{"url":"https://github.com/Thanatermesis","@type":"Person","name":"Thanatermesis"},"datePublished":"2026-02-22T20:55:42.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":0},"url":"https://github.com/453/cecli/issues/453"}
