Rustls, on the other hand, is written entirely in native Rust as far as I know and will compile just fine without you having to do anything. It's also statically linked and apparently might be faster than Open-SSL anyway.\r\n## Drawbacks, Rationale, and Alternatives\r\n\r\n\u003c!-- What drawbacks might this solution have? Why do you feel it is necessary? What other options might there be to solving this problem? --\u003e\r\nA possible alternative is the [native_tls](https://docs.rs/native-tls/latest/native_tls) crate, which abstracts over platform-specific TLS implementations.
