{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"DiscussionForumPosting","headline":"Developer workflow broken when linking plain JS app with NativeScript/tns-core-modules","articleBody":"**Environment**\r\n - CLI: 6.1.2\r\n - Cross-platform modules: master (6.2.0)\r\n - Android Runtime: 6.1.2\r\n - iOS Runtime: 6.1.0\r\n - Plugin(s): N/A\r\n\r\n**Describe the bug**\r\n I’m having problems trying to run the Hello World template app using the NativeScript source [as described here](https://github.com/NativeScript/NativeScript/blob/master/DevelopmentWorkflow.md#running-another-app)\r\n\r\nWhen trying to run the app I get the error attached in the screenshot at the end.\r\n\r\n**To Reproduce**\r\n1. clone the NativeScript project\r\n2. `tns create test-bkg-pos` in the same folder where you cloned NativeScript\r\n3. `npm install --save ../NativeScript/tns-core-modules` insede the project folder (i.e: `test-bkg-pos`)\r\n4. `tns run android`\r\n\r\n**Expected behavior**\r\nThe project should work using the source code for core modules.\r\n\r\n**Additional context**\r\nNot to flood this issue with a wall of text, I've attached the error as an image.
