It reminds me the ZXMMC device that goes into the Z80 socket of my good old ZX Spectrum +3. I've never expected to see something like this in a PC.\n\nAnd I guess it would solve one of the notorious problems of my old Amstrad PC2086, which is the lack of free 8-bit ISA slots, which leaves me with a dreadful choice between putting in an UMB ISA card (which would free 64kB of the precious conventional memory making some of the more demanding programs work at all) vs. an EMS ISA card which gives megabytes of free memory for the programs and games that know how to use it and of course a highly recommended swap for 4DOS. Yes I know XTMax could blend both things in one card, but I'm looking at the other alternatives too. If there is a device which could do the same and occupy no single ISA slot at all, it would be very interesting.\n\nAs for my Amstrad PC, I've already replaced its CPU with V30, and it seems to be one of the biggest upgrades this machine ever experienced, so going back to V20 would be a sad experience.\n\nTherefore I wonder if MCLV20_MAX could be customized to support the following:\n\n- V30 enhanced instruction set\n- 4 MB of EMS\n- 64kB of UMB\n","author":{"url":"https://github.com/pawosm-arm","@type":"Person","name":"pawosm-arm"},"datePublished":"2025-11-19T21:49:32.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":2},"url":"https://github.com/47/Projects/issues/47"}
