System.TypeLoadException: Cannot load ClearScript V8 library. Load failure information for ClearScriptV8.linux-x64.so:\r\n/app/runtimes/linux-x64/native/ClearScriptV8.linux-x64.so: Unable to load shared library '/app/runtimes/linux-x64/native/ClearScriptV8.linux-x64.so' or one of its dependencies. In order to help diagnose loading problems, consider setting the LD_DEBUG environment variable: Error loading shared library ld-linux-x86-64.so.2: No such file or directory (needed by /app/runtimes/linux-x64/native/ClearScriptV8.linux-x64.so)\r\n```\r\n\r\nAdding the glibc compatability layer to try and solve this causes the following error:\r\n \r\n ```\r\n terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::system_error'\r\n  what():  No error information\r\n ```\r\n \r\n Going back to version 7.0.0 with the glibc compatability layer works in an Alpine image without issues. Maybe this was caused by the following change in 7.1?:\r\n\r\n`Switched to static linking of C/C++ libraries to broaden Linux support `\r\n\r\n\r\nSteps to reproduce\r\n\r\nCreate simple C# project using ClearScript 7.2.0\r\n\r\n```\r\nstatic void Main(string[] args)\r\n{\r\n\tvar engine = new V8ScriptEngine();\r\n\tengine.AddHostType(\"Console\", typeof(Console));\r\n\tengine.Evaluate(\"Console.WriteLine('Hello from JS')\");\r\n}\r\n``` \r\n\r\nBuild/Publish project (`dotnet build \u0026\u0026 dotnet publish`)\r\n\r\nBuild Docker image with:\r\n - Alpine base (such as `mcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/aspnet:5.0-alpine`)\r\n - Alpine's glibc compatability layer (`RUN apk add gcompat`)\r\n - Copy dotnet publish output and set the entrypoint to simple app\r\n \r\nRun the Docker image and output should be the error shown above\r\n \r\n ","author":{"url":"https://github.com/SeanMsi","@type":"Person","name":"SeanMsi"},"datePublished":"2021-12-07T21:18:21.000Z","interactionStatistic":{"@type":"InteractionCounter","interactionType":"https://schema.org/CommentAction","userInteractionCount":17},"url":"https://github.com/331/ClearScript/issues/331"}
